How to create invoices customers and you can both read.
An invoice is a record of the sale: seller, buyer (when needed), items, amounts, tax if you charge it, and what was paid. A calculator can split GST; it cannot invent a legal invoice for you.
Minimum useful fields
Date, invoice or bill number, item names, quantities, rates, total, amount received, amount due. Add GSTIN and tax breakup only when they apply to that sale.
Part-payment on the same bill
Show amount received and balance due. The next receipt should reference this bill. Do not issue a second invoice for the collection.
GST is rules plus your facts
Use the free GST calculator to see CGST/SGST or IGST on a number you already know. Applicable rate, place of supply and whether you must issue a tax invoice are legal questions this guide does not decide.
